Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 1.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metso Oyj (HE:METSO), which rose 4.28% or 1.09 points to trade at 26.55 at the close. Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) added 3.49% or 1.24 points to end at 36.80 and Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V) was up 2.76% or 0.80 points to 29.74 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Valmt (HE:VALMT), which added 0.06% or 0.01 points to trade at 17.11 in late trade. Amer Sports Corporation (HE:AMEAS) added 0.20% or 0.05 points to end at 25.11 and Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB) gained 0.40% or 0.030 points to 7.450.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 40 and 18 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 0.85% or 0.55 to $63.79 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.19% or 0.73 to hit $60.42 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.48% or 6.40 to trade at $1321.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.77% to 1.2315, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8915.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.61% at 90.11.
