Far East Gold Ltd (ASX:FEG, OTC:FEGDF) has confirmed the presence of high-grade gold at Aloe Rek prospect of the Woyla Copper-Gold Project in Indonesia with the first drill hole at the Victory Vein target, while also extending the strike length of a high-grade epithermal gold vein a further 5.5 kilometres.
A detailed field mapping program across the Woyla tenure revealed the project’s low-sulphidation epithermal gold vein system extends to 18.5 kilometres in length, up from 13 kilometres.
The first drill hole at Aloe Rek also generated promising results, assaying at up to 5 metres at 2.36 g/t gold, 10 g/t silver (2.48 g/t gold equivalent) from 46 metres of depth, with a higher-grade component of 0.5 metres at 15.91 g/t gold, 69 g/t silver (16.74 g/t gold equivalent) from 47 metres.
Full assay results
The highest individual sample assay from Aloe Rek was 0.9 metres at 20.8 g/t gold and 23 g/t silver for 21.1 g/t gold equivalent from 86.6 metres of depth, also containing 1,972 parts per million (ppm) arsenic and 133 ppm antimony.
The other results of note include:
- 5 metres at 2.36 g/t gold, 10 g/t silver (2.48 g/t gold equivalent) from 46 metres, including 0.5 metres at 15.91 g/t gold, 69 g/t silver (16.74 g/t gold equivalent) from 47 metres;
- 12.4 metres at 5.59 g/t gold, 25.3 g/t silver (5.89 g/t gold equivalent) from 82.3 metres including 9.7 metres at 7.06 g/t gold, 31.67 g/t silver (7.44 g/t gold equivalent) from 85 metres and 4 metres at 11.83 g/t gold, 33.56 g/t silver (12.23 g/t gold equivalent) from 85.5 metres; and,
- 0.8 metres at 3.58 g/t gold, 8.85 g/t silver (3.69 g/t gold equivalent) from 123 metres, including 0.4 metres at 6.79 g/t gold, 10.9 g/t silver (6.92 g/t gold equivalent) from 123 metres.
The newly identified 5.5-kilometre stretch of prospect strike has yet to be drill tested by FEG, offering an attractive exploration target for future programs.
