Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 2.61%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were TNT Express (AMS:TNTE), which fell 0.07% or 0.005 points to trade at 7.517 at the close. Meanwhile, KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) fell 0.91% or 0.032 points to end at 3.497 and Boskalis Westmin (AMS:BOSN) was down 1.08% or 0.48 points to 43.97 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA), which fell 5.84% or 0.40 points to trade at 6.50 at the close. Aegon (AMS:AEGN) declined 3.83% or 0.209 points to end at 5.251 and ING Groep NV (AMS:ING) was down 3.57% or 0.485 points to 13.100.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 145 to 20 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) fell to 5-year lows; losing 5.84% or 0.40 to 6.50.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 15.00% to 33.31.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.13% or 0.53 to $46.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.43% or 0.72 to hit $49.95 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.42% or 4.70 to trade at $1119.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.1138, while EUR/GBP rose 0.52% to 0.7328.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 96.29.
