Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 3.22%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 7.85% or 0.1030 points to trade at 1.4150 at the close. Meanwhile, Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA) added 6.38% or 0.0180 points to end at 0.3000 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 6.22% or 0.0140 points to 0.2390 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 1.57% or 0.0006 points to trade at 0.0375 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 1.27% or 0.0470 points to end at 3.7470 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 1.84% or 0.2050 points to 11.3350.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 44 to 8 and 2 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 7.85% or 2.29 to $31.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 7.18% or 2.12 to hit $31.65 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.03% or 0.30 to trade at $1098.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.57% to 1.0814, while EUR/GBP fell 1.03% to 0.7568.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.34% at 99.48.
