Investing.com – Colombia equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Public Services, Investment and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombia, the COLCAP rose 0.25% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the COLCAP were Avianca Holdings Pf (CN:AVT_p), which rose 6.65% or 155.0 points to trade at 2485.0 at the close. Ecopetrol SA (CN:ECO) added 3.14% or 40.0 points to end at 1315.0 and Grupo Aval Acciones Y Valores Pf (CN:GAA_p) was up 2.08% or 25.0 points to 1225.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Canacol Energy Ltd (CN:CNE), which lost 1.70% or 160.0 points to trade at 9260.0 in late trade. Cementos Argos Pf (CN:CCB_p) declined 1.09% or 120.0 points to end at 10880.0 and Cemargos (CN:CCB) shed 0.84% or 100.0 points to 11780.0.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 14 and 3 ended unchanged on the Colombia Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, US coffee C for September delivery was down 1.54% or 2.12 to $135.10 . Meanwhile, US cocoa for delivery in December rose 0.75% or 23.00 to hit $3085.50 , while the December Gold contract fell 0.28% or 3.85 to trade at $1353.05 a troy ounce.
USD/COP was up 0.26% to 2910.06, while BRL/COP rose 0.16% to 907.89.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 94.72.
