C29 Metals Ltd (ASX:C29) has kicked off its maiden drill program at Mayfield Copper-Gold Project in the ‘world-class’ Mt Isa copper and base metals region of northwest Queensland.
The program comprises up to 2,800 metres of reverse circulation (RC) drilling across eight holes, designed to test the best targets generated from extensive geochemical and geophysics data at four prospects across the 91 square kilometres Mayfield tenure.
Moving forward, the drilling is expected to take 14 to 21 days with samples to be submitted to ALS in Mt Isa for assays.
Drill program
Experienced local driller AED is carrying out the program under supervision from the company’s exploration team, led by Craig Hall.
Hall is a geologist with more than 35 years of experience in exploration, development and production principally in gold, copper and lithium.
His experience includes leading exploration at then-Redbank Copper Ltd where he was responsible for drilling several discovery holes at their NT copper deposits and increasing the resource base by 30% over several campaigns.
The Mayfield tenure is surrounded by Carnaby Metals and Hammer Metals Ltd in the Mt Isa copper and base metals region.
