Brookside Energy Ltd (ASX:BRK, OTC:RDFEF) is making strong progress with the multi-well Flames-Maroons Development Plan (FMDP) in Oklahoma with drilling of the Fleury Well completed, the rig moved to another drill pad and the Rocket Well spudded.

After reaching the total measured depth of 13,115 feet at Fleury, the production casing was run in the lateral section of the well and successfully cemented in place.

Kenai Drilling’s Kenai Rig 19 was then rigged down and transported to the nearby Flames Pad where it was rigged up on location, tested and started drilling the surface hole of the Rocket Well.

Fourth well

Rocket Well, which is the fourth and final well of the current FMDP drilling program, is at a measured depth of 630 feet and Brookside said that all operations were continuing safely, on budget and on time.

The FMDP is a multi-well drilling program targeting the highly productive Sycamore Lime and Woodford Shale formations in the core of the southern SCOOP Play of the southern Anadarko Basin.

Of the four wells in the multi-well drilling program, three were drilled from the Sanford Pad - the Fleury, Maroons and Iginla wells. The final well, Rocket, is being drilled from the Flames Well pad.

Location of the Sanford Pad and the four FMDP wells. Fleury, Maroons and Iginla were drilled from the Sanford Pad and the Rocket Well is being drilled from the existing Flames Well pad. Also shown are Continental Resources Courbet Wells full field development showing the strong performance of the Woodford wells (names ending with HXW) and Sycamore wells (names ending in HXM).

Encouraging Fleury indications

Fleury Well was drilled in a thick, undrained portion of the Woodford Formation within a structurally complex area.

This structural complexity led to the Fleury Well encountering numerous fracture swarms as it traversed the flank of a notable structural feature throughout the length of the lateral. These areas of intense fracturing often act as natural pathways for oil and gas migration and production.

There were several notable hydrocarbon shows during the drilling of the lateral. The nature of the Woodford shale organic matter in this particular area has proven to be oil prone.
