Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumption, Industrials and Public Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.30% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Ambev SA (SA:ABEV3), which rose 3.70% or 0.75 points to trade at 21.01 at the close. CEMIG - Companhia Energetica Minas Gerais Pref (SA:CMIG4) added 3.56% or 0.31 points to end at 9.03 and Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3) was up 3.04% or 0.96 points to 32.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3), which lost 2.51% or 1.08 points to trade at 42.00 in late trade. EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) declined 2.45% or 0.28 points to end at 11.14 and Metalurgica Gerdau SA (SA:GOAU4) shed 2.44% or 0.15 points to 5.99.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 198 to 187 and 44 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.09% to 29.71.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.00% or 0.01 to $1335.71 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.62% or 0.30 to hit $48.37 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 2.37% or 3.12 to trade at $134.82 .
USD/BRL was up 0.70% to 3.1252, while EUR/BRL rose 0.78% to 3.7389.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 91.89.
