EV charging company, Blink Charging Co (NASDAQ:BLNK) revealed Thursday that they have been selected as an EV charging solutions provider for the Metropolitan Government of Nashville‐Davidson County in Tennessee.
The agreement grants authority to local agencies to acquire Blink's EV charging equipment for various locations throughout the county. Under this arrangement, Blink will supply the chargers, but ownership will be retained by Metro.
“Blink is proud to contribute to the development of the EV infrastructure in Nashville and Davidson County,” said Blink’s VP of sales and Business Development, Jim Nemec.
“It is exciting for Blink to have been chosen to play this significant role in the future of a region that is revered for its rich history,” he added.
The Nashville region is a growing hub of EV development, marked by the ongoing construction of new facilities. Additionally, the area has seen a remarkable upswing in the population of EVs, boasting around 13,000 registered EV drivers in the county, a figure that is steadily increasing.
Shares of BLNK are up 4.9% in afternoon trading Thursday.
