Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which rose 0.64% or 0.36 points to trade at 56.38 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 0.39% or 0.042 points to end at 10.884 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was up 0.32% or 0.140 points to 44.390 in late trade.
Biggest losers included bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which lost 6.15% or 0.64 points to trade at 9.76 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 3.02% or 2.760 points to end at 88.620 and Argen-X (BR:ARGX) shed 2.55% or 2.10 points to 80.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 74 to 37 and 17 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.14% or 1.70 to $1222.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.53% or 0.30 to hit $56.76 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.48% or 0.32 to trade at $66.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1445, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.8907.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 96.12.
