Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 0.31% or 0.22 points to trade at 71.12 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) added 0.18% or 0.140 points to end at 77.560 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) was down 0.03% or 0.03 points to 91.37 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which lost 2.56% or 0.71 points to trade at 27.05 in late trade. Umicore SA (BR:UMI) declined 1.77% or 0.77 points to end at 43.00 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) shed 1.51% or 0.56 points to 36.58.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 92 to 30 and 17 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.05% or 0.70 to $1339.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.66% or 1.09 to hit $64.47 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.10% or 0.76 to trade at $68.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.2403, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.8773.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 89.03.
