Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 0.35% or 0.055 points to trade at 15.720 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) added 0.22% or 0.13 points to end at 58.68 and KBC (BR:KBC) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 71.790 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which lost 1.51% or 1.12 points to trade at 72.81 in late trade. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) declined 1.27% or 0.32 points to end at 24.80 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) shed 1.02% or 0.29 points to 28.66.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 76 to 38 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.23% or 2.91 to $1276.11 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.93% or 1.49 to hit $49.30 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.58% or 1.47 to trade at $55.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1729, while EUR/GBP rose 0.66% to 0.8985.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 93.69.
