Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which rose 1.16% or 0.75 points to trade at 65.29 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 0.85% or 0.12 points to end at 14.20 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 0.40% or 0.300 points to 75.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KBC (BR:KBC), which lost 1.12% or 0.790 points to trade at 69.880 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 1.10% or 0.170 points to end at 15.280 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) shed 0.90% or 0.52 points to 57.29.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 59 to 44 and 12 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.66% or 8.51 to $1291.41 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.28% or 0.13 to hit $46.91 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.90% or 0.45 to trade at $50.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1743, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.9112.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 93.53.
