Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which rose 2.77% or 1.26 points to trade at 46.74 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 1.25% or 0.15 points to end at 12.56 and Sofina (BR:SOF) was up 1.05% or 1.80 points to 173.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which lost 2.71% or 1.80 points to trade at 64.70 in late trade. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) declined 2.11% or 0.30 points to end at 13.90 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) shed 1.04% or 0.80 points to 75.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 75 to 39 and 17 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.93% or 11.10 to $1188.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.71% or 0.51 to hit $72.08 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.63% or 0.51 to trade at $81.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.52% to 1.1679, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8913.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.53% at 94.38.
