Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 1.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 4.21% or 2.70 points to trade at 66.90 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) added 3.35% or 0.74 points to end at 22.85 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 3.18% or 2.720 points to 88.320 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which lost 0.79% or 0.13 points to trade at 16.24 in late trade. Sofina (BR:SOF) declined 0.36% or 0.60 points to end at 164.80 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) shed 0.04% or 0.01 points to 11.47.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 74 to 34 and 17 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.03% or 0.40 to $1232.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.67% or 0.45 to hit $67.14 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.18 to trade at $77.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.1391, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.8898.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 96.36.
