Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 1.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which rose 3.87% or 2.21 points to trade at 59.34 at the close. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) added 2.79% or 3.45 points to end at 126.95 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) was up 2.69% or 1.01 points to 38.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which lost 2.57% or 1.20 points to trade at 45.38 in late trade. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) declined 0.68% or 0.70 points to end at 102.35 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) shed 0.60% or 0.500 points to 82.750.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 64 to 48 and 12 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.43% or 5.44 to $1273.56 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.38% or 0.20 to hit $52.38 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.27% or 0.16 to trade at $58.60 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.01% to 1.1693, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8879.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.82% at 94.30.
