Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 2.98% or 1.26 points to trade at 43.76 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 2.78% or 2.060 points to end at 76.120 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was up 1.29% or 0.61 points to 47.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which lost 0.23% or 0.06 points to trade at 23.51 in late trade. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) declined 0.16% or 0.16 points to end at 98.83 and Sofina (BR:SOF) gained 0.24% or 0.30 points to 125.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 67 to 43 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.29% or 3.78 to $1292.92 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.48% or 0.23 to hit $47.76 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.43% or 0.22 to trade at $51.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.1768, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.9170.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 93.36.
