Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrial Engineering, Banking and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 2.55% or 2.10 points to trade at 84.50 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 2.38% or 2.140 points to end at 92.140 and UCB (BR:UCB) was up 1.91% or 1.44 points to 76.76 in late trade.
Biggest losers included bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which lost 4.43% or 0.49 points to trade at 10.56 in late trade. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 3.13% or 0.88 points to end at 27.21 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) shed 1.35% or 0.25 points to 18.33.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 56 to 56 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.12% or 1.40 to $1202.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 4.39% or 2.63 to hit $57.30 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 4.28% or 3.00 to trade at $67.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.56% to 1.1282, while EUR/GBP fell 0.81% to 0.8659.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 96.99.
