Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Telecoms and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 1.70% or 0.29 points to trade at 17.33 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 1.23% or 0.17 points to end at 14.04 and Cofinimmo SA (BR:COFB) was up 1.06% or 1.20 points to 114.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telenet Group Holding NV (BR:TNET), which lost 1.71% or 0.70 points to trade at 40.16 in late trade. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 1.54% or 0.41 points to end at 26.25 and Argen-X (BR:ARGX) shed 0.98% or 0.90 points to 91.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 63 to 49 and 19 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.34% or 4.45 to $1307.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.67% or 1.39 to hit $53.38 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 2.49% or 1.49 to trade at $61.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.1423, while EUR/GBP rose 0.08% to 0.8687.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 95.493.
