Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 2.40% or 1.86 points to trade at 79.26 at the close. Sofina (BR:SOF) added 1.63% or 2.80 points to end at 174.60 and Argen-X (BR:ARGX) was up 1.38% or 0.90 points to 66.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which lost 2.78% or 0.51 points to trade at 17.84 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.19% or 1.160 points to end at 96.260 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) shed 0.63% or 0.30 points to 47.12.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 69 to 49 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.29% or 3.50 to $1192.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.97% or 1.44 to hit $74.69 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.86% or 1.54 to trade at $84.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1570, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.8876.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 94.97.
