March 19 (Reuters) - Newcrest Mining Ltd NCM.AX on Monday cut capital cost and operating cost estimates for its Wafi-Golpu joint venture in Papua New Guinea.
Sustaining capital, which is the capital incurred post the start of commercial production, is forecast to be A$2.56 billion ($1.97 billion), less than its previous guidance of A$3.73 billion.
The gold miner now expects total operating cost to be A$17.33 per tonne, lower than its previous prediction of A$23.95 per tonne.
