Investing.com - The S&P/ASX 200 added 30 points or 0.5% to 6,678 during Friday’s trade, extending gains of 0.8% in the previous session and finishing the week 2.1% higher as rebounding commodity prices boosted the Energy and Materials sectors.
Among stocks, Woodside Energy Ltd (ASX:WDS) gained 1.75, Santos Ltd (ASX:STO) lifted 2.3%, Beach Energy Ltd (ASX:BPT) added 4.2% and Viva Energy Group Ltd (ASX:VEA) lifted 2.6%, while Rio Tinto Ltd (ASX:RIO) gained 0.3%, BHP Billiton Ltd (ASX:BHP) lifted 0.7%, Fortescue Metals Group Ltd (ASX:FMG) added 0.6% and Champion Iron Ltd (ASX:CIA) gained 4.8%.
Information Technology added 0.8% overall with Block Inc (ASX:SQ2) up 1.7%, Megaport Ltd (ASX:MP1) adding 3.3%, Novonix Ltd (ASX:NVX) up 4.7% and Xero Ltd (ASX:XRO) gaining 1.6%.
On the bond markets, Australia 10-Year yields were at 3.481% while United States 10-Year rates were at 2.985%.
In New Zealand, the NZX 50 added 0.5% to 11,169.
