Investing.com - The S&P/ASX 200 fell 67.6 points or 1% to 7,046.9 on Monday, mostly returning gains of 1.2% in the previous week as market participants monitored fresh earnings results from local companies.
Among stocks, losses were led by Consumer Discretionary, with JB Hi-Fi Ltd (ASX:JBH) falling 1.2%, Domino's Pizza Enterprises Ltd (ASX:DMP) down 3%, Tabcorp Holdings Ltd (ASX:TAH) falling 3.1% and Wesfarmers Ltd (ASX:WES) down 1.5%.
Information Technology finished 1.5% lower as Block Inc (ASX:SQ2) fell 6.8%, Appen Ltd (ASX:APX) lost 1.8%, Megaport Ltd (ASX:MP1) fell 1.7%, Novonix Ltd (ASX:NVX) lost 0.8% and Brainchip Holdings Ltd (ASX:BRN) retreated 2.4%.
Among reporting companies, Adbri Ltd (ASX:ABC) plunged 16.9% after the company reported declining profits and dividends in the half year to June, while EML Payments Ltd (ASX:EML) added 6.1% after announcing results.
On the bond markets, Australia 10-Year rates were at 3.538% while United States 10-Year yields were at 2.957%.
In New Zealand, the NZX 50 added 0.3% to 11,716.
