Investing.com - The S&P/ASX 200 added 72 points or 1% to 7,122.3 on Thursday, extending gains for the 4th consecutive session and closing at fresh 2-week highs.
Among stocks, Technology outperformed as Block Inc (ASX:SQ2) gained 2.4%, Appen Ltd (ASX:APX) popped 11%, Megaport Ltd (ASX:MP1) gained 4.3% and Novonix Ltd (ASX:NVX) gained 3.1%.
Materials and Financials rose 1.5% apiece, with Rio Tinto Ltd (ASX:RIO) up 1.8%, BHP Group Ltd (ASX:BHP) adding 2.4%, Fortescue Metals Group Ltd (ASX:FMG) gaining 2.1% and Champion Iron Ltd (ASX:CIA) up 2.1%, while Macquarie Group Ltd (ASX:MQG) lifted 1.2%, ANZ Group Holdings Ltd (ASX:ANZ) added 0.9%, Commonwealth Bank Of Australia (ASX:CBA) gained 1.5%, National Australia Bank Ltd (ASX:NAB) lifted 2.3% and Westpac Banking Corp (ASX:WBC) gained 1.5%.
On the bond markets, Australia 10-Year rates were at 3.361%.
In New Zealand, the NZX 50added 1.7% to 11,933.2.
