Investing.com - The S&P/ASX 200 fell 94.4 points or 1.4% to 6,664.4 During Monday’s trade, following a flat performance last week.
Among stocks, Materials and Energy led declines, falling 2.1% apiece. Rio Tinto Ltd (ASX:RIO) shed 2.6%, BHP Group Ltd (ASX:BHP) lost 2.3%, Fortescue Metals Group Ltd (ASX:FMG) fell 1.2% and Champion Iron Ltd (ASX:CIA) lost 3.6%, while Woodside Energy Ltd (ASX:WDS) fell 2.4%, Santos Ltd (ASX:STO) dipped 3% and Beach Energy Ltd (ASX:BPT) shed 3.7%.
Meantime, Adbri Ltd (ASX:ABC) plummeted 22% following the announcement that CEO Nick Miller is departing while News Corp B (NASDAQ:NWS) added 3.6% after confirming that it was considering a merger with Fox.
On the bond markets, Australia 10-Year rates were at 4.028% while United States 10-Year rates were at 3.992%
