April 24 (Reuters) - Iron ore producer Fortescue Metals FMG.AX on Tuesday reported a 2 percent fall in third-quarter iron ore shipments on reduced demand and construction activity in China.
The world no. 4 iron ore miner shipped 38.7 million tonnes in the March quarter compared with 39.6 million tonnes a year ago, the company said in a statement.
The miner maintained its iron ore price forecast for the full year at about 65 percent of the Platts 62 CFR index, and fiscal 2018 shipment guidance at 170 million tonnes.
