SYDNEY, June 21 (Reuters) - Australian shares are poised for a strong start on Tuesday, tracking gains on Wall Street on hopes the U.K. was more likely to stay with the European Union.
The local share price index futures YAPcm1 rose 0.5 percent, a 35.8-point discount to the underlying S&P/ASX 200 index .AXJO close. The benchmark rose 1.8 percent on Monday.
New Zealand's benchmark S&P/NZX 50 index .NZ50 slipped 0.09 percent in early trade.
