SYDNEY, Oct 6 (Reuters) - Australian shares are set to open 1 percent higher on Tuesday to hit a fresh multiweek peak, drawing support from a stronger Wall Street.
Local share price index futures YAPcm1 rose 1.2 percent to 5,207.0 to sit at a 46.4-point premium to the underlying S&P/ASX 200 index .AXJO close. The benchmark rose 2 percent on Monday.
New Zealand's benchmark NZX 50 index .NZ50 rose 0.38 percent in early trade.
