Investing.com - The S&P/ASX 200 fell 47 points or 0.7% to 6,968.6 during Thursday's session, snapping two sessions of gain as investors tracked overnight losses on Wall Street following a 25 basis point rate hike from Federal Reserve policymakers.
Among stocks, Materials led declines as BHP Group Ltd (ASX:BHP) fell 0.8%, Rio Tinto Ltd (ASX:RIO) dipped 1.1%, Fortescue Metals Group Ltd (ASX:FMG) fell 3.3% and Champion Iron Ltd (ASX:CIA) retrreated 5.6%.
Energy fell 0.8% with Woodside Energy Ltd (ASX:WDS) down 0.6%, Santos Ltd (ASX:STO) slipping 1.3%, Beach Energy Ltd (ASX:BPT) dropping 1.5% and Viva Energy Group Ltd (ASX:VEA) 0.3%.
On the bond markets, Australia 10-Year rates were at 3.296%.
In New Zealand, the NZX 50 added 0.1% to 11,594.9.
