Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 1.15% or 0.32 points to trade at 28.07 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 1.07% or 0.16 points to end at 15.08 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) was up 0.75% or 0.85 points to 113.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which lost 3.01% or 1.25 points to trade at 40.33 in late trade. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) declined 1.63% or 0.68 points to end at 40.97 and Elia (BR:ELI) shed 1.63% or 0.780 points to 47.065.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 97 to 38 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.72% or 9.55 to $1328.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.84% or 0.84 to hit $44.91 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.61% or 0.76 to trade at $46.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1009, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8331.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 97.06.
