Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Investment Trust and Trading sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Multi Finance PLC (CM:MULT), which rose 15.79% or 1.80 points to trade at 13.20 at the close. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was up 10.00% or 0.100 points to 1.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which lost 23.74% or 351.70 points to trade at 1130.00 in late trade. Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD) declined 21.95% or 2812.50 points to end at 10000.00 and Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) shed 16.20% or 262.00 points to 1355.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 87 to 84 and 50 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.16% or 0.08 to $48.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.29% or 0.15 to hit $51.12 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.07% or 13.34 to trade at $1262.74 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.78% to 202.000, while USD/LKR rose 0.02% to 153.640.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 93.43.
