Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem (MI:SPMI), which rose 2.02% or 0.0085 points to trade at 0.4295 at the close. Recordati (MI:RECI) added 1.91% or 0.53 points to end at 28.21 and Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) was up 1.12% or 0.27 points to 24.29 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA), which lost 3.39% or 0.2100 points to trade at 5.9900 in late trade. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) declined 3.29% or 0.0110 points to end at 0.3231 and UnipolSai Assicurazioni SpA (MI:US) shed 2.21% or 0.033 points to 1.461.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 252 to 108 and 33 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.76% or 0.35 to $45.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.40% or 0.19 to hit $46.77 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.33% or 4.35 to trade at $1333.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.54% to 1.1016, while EUR/GBP rose 0.59% to 0.8403.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.56% at 97.10.
