Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Transport and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Saf Gmyo (IS:SAFGY), which rose 13.10% or 0.110 points to trade at 0.950 at the close. Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) added 5.74% or 0.070 points to end at 1.290 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was up 4.55% or 0.010 points to 0.230 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS), which lost 7.14% or 0.26 points to trade at 3.38 in late trade. Good-Year (IS:GOODY) declined 5.60% or 7.60 points to end at 128.00 and Enka Insaat (IS:ENKAI) shed 3.39% or 0.15 points to 4.28.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 182 to 155 and 70 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.46% or 5.75 to $1247.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.55% or 0.75 to hit $47.66 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.81% or 0.88 to trade at $47.84 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.49% to 2.9908, while EUR/TRY rose 0.25% to 3.3494.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.15% at 95.43.
