Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 1.30% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which rose 9.68% or 0.003 points to trade at 0.034 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) added 8.70% or 0.008 points to end at 0.100 and Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr) was up 7.16% or 0.04 points to 0.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MLS Multimedia (AT:MLSr), which fell 1.87% or 0.07 points to trade at 3.68 at the close. Euroconsultants SA (AT:ERCr) declined 1.80% or 0.0300 points to end at 1.6700 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) was down 1.75% or 0.02 points to 1.12.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 64 to 35 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.08% or 0.90 to $1167.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.57% or 1.13 to hit $42.85 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.03% or 0.96 to trade at $46.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1053, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.7219.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 96.92.
