Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) has come out with a bang with four new iPhones, a rugged smart watch and new AirPods to boot at its much anticipated ‘Far out’ event at Apple's global headquarters in California.
The company launched four variants of the iPhone including the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Surprisingly, there will be no 'mini' version of the iPhone 14, Apple instead opting for two 6.1-inch screen devices and two 6.7-inch devices
The Pro models will sport a new A16 Bionic chip compared to the A15 Bionic chip first seen in last year’s iPhone 13 Pro.
Interestingly, Apple has also a new satellite emergency SOS messaging service to the new phones, allowing users to call emergency services regardless of the signal strength in the region. Unfortunately, it will only be rolled out initially in the USA and Canada.

48-megapixel camera
The highlight of the iPhone 14 Pro is a 48-megapixel camera with a 'quad pixel' sensor that is significantly larger than the previous generation.
However, there seems to be very little difference in design between the new iPhone 14 and the two previous generations.
Apple has shifted the front-facing camera notch away from the edge and into the display itself with a design it calls the 'dynamic island', which is meant to let the pill-shaped camera cutout sort of blend into darker elements of the interface.
Price point
Prices in Australia start at $1,399 for the iPhone 14 and $1,579 for the iPhone 14 Plus. the iPhone 14 Pro starts at $1,749 with prices from $1,899 for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The company estimates that the sales will kick off between September 16 to October 7.
Rugged smartwatch
Along with the iPhones, Apple has launched its latest rugged smartwatch Apple Watch Series 8, which will be targeting athletes, with a strong crack-resistant front crystal.
With all-day 18-hour battery life, Apple Watch Series 8 builds on best-in-class health and safety features like the ECG app and fall detection by introducing temperature-sensing capabilities, retrospective ovulation estimates, Crash Detection, and international roaming.
Utilising the new temperature-sensing capabilities in Apple Watch Series 8, users can receive retrospective ovulation estimates. Knowing when ovulation has occurred can be helpful for family planning.
Furthermore, the company has also launched its new AirPods Pro, its new AirPods in three years.
