Anson Resources Ltd (ASX:ASN) has begun drilling two high-priority targets at the Ajana Project, Western Australia, targeting zinc, lead, silver and copper mineralisation.
Ajana sits in the mid-west region of Western Australia, near Geraldton, an area known to be an established zinc, lead and silver mining province.
Historical exploration and mining on the project has previously revealed the presence of high-grade base and precious metal mineralisation.
Two targets in the crosshairs
The first target is Ethel Maude, where Anson will focus drilling on shallow, high-grade zinc, lead and silver mineralisation.
The target area is known to be open to the north, east, west and down-dip, presenting what Anson considers a strong opportunity for a resource base.
The second target is the Surprise historical workings.
Here, Anson’s drilling will target a group of prospects in the east of the project, prospective for high-grade lead, copper and silver.
Zinc and copper are highly sought-after battery metals, both being vital to infrastructure and technology applications (such as batteries) necessary for the energy transition.
Ajana has been subject to little modern exploration, and ASN believes it presents an exploration opportunity with high potential.
