Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.17%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI), which rose 4.62% or 0.0420 points to trade at 0.9510 at the close. Meanwhile, Portucel (LISBON:PTI) added 3.58% or 0.1090 points to end at 3.1540 and Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) was up 2.50% or 0.0001 points to 0.0040 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA), which fell 4.11% or 0.0120 points to trade at 0.2800 at the close. Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) declined 2.28% or 0.0490 points to end at 2.1000 and Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) was down 1.33% or 0.0060 points to 0.4450.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 27 to 19 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 2.20% or 1.04 to $48.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.11% or 1.40 to hit $46.42 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.43% or 4.90 to trade at $1132.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.81% to 1.1208, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.7230.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.60% at 95.94.
