Aldoro Resources Ltd (ASX:ARN) has acquired two diamond drill rigs to fast-track exploration and resource definition at the Kameelburg REE and Niobium Project in Namibia.
The drill rigs, expected to arrive in the first week of November, will be accompanied by drill rods, consumables and spares.
Drill rods to be used in upcoming drilling.
Capable of drilling up to 2,000 metres per month to depths of 100-300 metres, the rigs are set to expedite the company's exploration efforts.
The drilling program will also benefit the local community by employing and training local expertise and workforce.
The company secured the Nock portable diamond drill rigs in response to the high demand for drilling services in Namibia, driven by increased exploration activity for gold and uranium.
These rigs provide an environmentally friendly solution, requiring no upgrades to existing roads or construction of large drilling pads, which supports Aldoro's commitment to sustainable operations.
The acquired rigs include the Nock Crawler 300 and 600 models, positioning the company to define a resource at Kameelburg by 2025 while also contributing to local employment opportunities.
Boosted by licence transfer and Aurum sale
The acquisition of the rigs comes directly after Aldoro completed the transfer of three Exclusive Prospecting Licences for the Kameelburg Rare Earths Project in Namibia and raised $1.54 million from selling shares in Aurum Resources Ltd (ASX:AUE).
The Ministry of Mines and Energy in Namibia approved the transfer of the Kameelburg Prospecting Licences, EPL 7372, 7373, and 7895, from Logan Exploration & Investments CC to Kameelburg Exploration Mining (Pty) Ltd, the joint venture company operated by Aldoro. This approval follows the successful renewal of the licences in August 2024.
These milestones mark significant progress for Aldoro in advancing its rare earths exploration in Namibia.
