Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Food & Beverages and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.32% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Panoro (LM:PML), which rose 26.83% or 0.022 points to trade at 0.104 at the close. Meanwhile, Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 11.69% or 0.560 points to end at 5.350 and Minsur (LM:MINi) was up 10.77% or 0.070 points to 0.720 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which fell 5.26% or 0.150 points to trade at 2.700 at the close. Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) declined 3.75% or 0.95 points to end at 24.35 and Credicorp (LM:BAP) was down 1.24% or 1.400 points to 111.400.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 22 to 6 and 5 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.49% or 0.15 to $30.51 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.48% or 0.51 to hit $33.99 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 1.92% or 23.20 to trade at $1234.60 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.13% to 3.5080, while EUR/PEN fell 0.54% to 3.8885.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.00% at 96.88.
