Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 1.31%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which rose 6.89% or 0.33 points to trade at 5.06 at the close. Meanwhile, Vopak (AS:VOPA) added 4.04% or 1.51 points to end at 38.99 and NN Group (AS:NN) was up 0.87% or 0.28 points to 31.77 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN), which fell 2.20% or 0.81 points to trade at 35.85 at the close. Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) declined 2.17% or 0.44 points to end at 19.86 and KPN Kon (AS:KPN) was down 2.16% or 0.073 points to 3.310.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 118 to 55 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.20% or 0.81 to 35.85.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.16% to 24.00.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 1.16% or 0.42 to $35.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 1.78% or 0.66 to hit $36.23 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 1.34% or 14.30 to trade at $1079.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.52% to 1.0923, while EUR/GBP rose 0.60% to 0.7338.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 98.42.
