Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 1.97%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 9.39% or 0.286 points to trade at 3.333 at the close. Meanwhile, Sacyr (MC:SCYR) added 5.61% or 0.077 points to end at 1.449 and Bankinter (MC:BKT) was up 5.39% or 0.316 points to 6.175 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gamesa (MC:GAM), which fell 3.60% or 0.515 points to trade at 13.780 at the close. Acciona (MC:ANA) declined 2.73% or 1.900 points to end at 67.720 and Enagas (MC:ENAG) was down 0.52% or 0.130 points to 25.135.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 147 to 73 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.98% or 10.80 to $1095.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 5.47% or 1.55 to hit $29.90 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 5.94% or 1.66 to trade at $29.54 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.51% to 1.0833, while EUR/GBP fell 0.70% to 0.7620.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 99.41.
