Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Household and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 1.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 16.07% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.065 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 11.57% or 0.014 points to end at 0.135 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was up 9.97% or 0.039 points to 0.430 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which lost 7.95% or 0.057 points to trade at 0.660 in late trade. Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) declined 7.41% or 0.28 points to end at 3.50 and Reds (AT:CAMr) shed 5.94% or 0.019 points to 0.301.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 46 to 45 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 1.27% or 15.40 to $1225.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 4.97% or 1.66 to hit $31.73 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 4.32% or 1.50 to trade at $33.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.1029, while EUR/GBP rose 0.37% to 0.7823.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 97.36.
