Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 1.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ageas (BR:AGES), which rose 0.61% or 0.195 points to trade at 32.310 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) fell 0.07% or 0.035 points to end at 49.645 and KBC (BR:KBC) was down 0.18% or 0.100 points to 53.970 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which lost 3.00% or 0.65 points to trade at 20.87 in late trade. Umicore NV (BR:UMI) declined 2.63% or 1.42 points to end at 52.49 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) shed 2.34% or 2.65 points to 110.55.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 112 to 27 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.44% or 5.85 to $1335.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.94% or 1.40 to hit $46.22 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 3.26% or 1.63 to trade at $48.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.45% to 1.1208, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8454.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 95.49.
