Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Utilities and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 1.17%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 13.77% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.157 at the close. Meanwhile, Reds (AT:CAMr) added 9.97% or 0.038 points to end at 0.419 and Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr) was up 9.22% or 0.05 points to 0.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Euro Reliance (AT:EREr), which fell 3.95% or 0.06 points to trade at 1.46 at the close. F.G. Europe (AT:ESKr) declined 3.23% or 0.020 points to end at 0.600 and Hellenic Telec (AT:OTEr) was down 1.61% or 0.14 points to 8.55.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 66 to 26 and 5 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.43% or 5.10 to $1177.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.50% or 0.23 to hit $46.51 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.11% or 0.06 to trade at $48.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1345, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.7339.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 94.86.
