Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Retail, Basic Resources and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 2.15%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Intracom Hold (AT:INRr), which rose 11.59% or 0.035 points to trade at 0.337 at the close. Meanwhile, Hell.Petrol (AT:HEPr) added 6.04% or 0.22 points to end at 3.86 and Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) was up 5.66% or 0.75 points to 14.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Euro Reliance (AT:EREr), which fell 8.57% or 0.12 points to trade at 1.28 at the close. Hygeia (AT:HYGr) declined 6.36% or 0.007 points to end at 0.103 and Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR) was down 4.66% or 0.27 points to 5.53.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 59 to 41 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 1.09% or 12.10 to $1117.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.74% or 0.83 to hit $31.17 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 2.89% or 0.91 to trade at $32.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.0838, while EUR/GBP fell 0.66% to 0.7564.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 99.25.
