Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Healthcare and Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 3.04%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which rose 29.17% or 0.04 points to trade at 0.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 20.99% or 0.017 points to end at 0.098 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) was up 13.36% or 0.155 points to 1.315 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sarantiseg (AT:SRSr), which fell 3.52% or 0.25 points to trade at 6.85 at the close. Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr) declined 2.33% or 0.25 points to end at 10.50 and Bank of Cyprus PCL (AT:BOCr) was down 2.29% or 0.003 points to 0.128.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 68 to 34 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.33% or 0.25 to 10.50. Shares in Bank of Cyprus PCL (AT:BOCr) fell to all time lows; losing 2.29% or 0.003 to 0.128.
Gold for April delivery was down 1.09% or 13.60 to $1234.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 11.60% or 3.04 to hit $29.25 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 8.85% or 2.66 to trade at $32.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.78% to 1.1235, while EUR/GBP fell 0.64% to 0.7774.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.51% at 96.12.
