Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Banking & Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.68%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE), which rose 10.00% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.440 at the close. Meanwhile, Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) added 1.96% or 0.005 points to end at 0.260 and Credicorp (LM:BAP) was up 1.87% or 1.800 points to 97.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Minsur (LM:MINi), which fell 9.52% or 0.060 points to trade at 0.570 at the close. Milpo (LM:MIL) declined 2.35% or 0.040 points to end at 1.660 and Intergroup (LM:IFS) was down 1.75% or 0.400 points to 22.500.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 12 to 8 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Intergroup (LM:IFS) fell to 3-years lows; falling 1.75% or 0.400 to 22.500.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 1.02% or 0.36 to $36.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.33% or 0.12 to hit $36.23 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.80% or 8.60 to trade at $1072.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.30% to 3.3900, while EUR/PEN rose 0.91% to 3.6990.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 98.21.
