Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Chemicals and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 1.78%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were mBank SA (WA:MBK), which rose 4.43% or 16.75 points to trade at 395.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) added 4.17% or 3.50 points to end at 87.50 and ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) was up 4.15% or 4.90 points to 123.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP), which fell 1.67% or 0.10 points to trade at 5.90 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) declined 0.44% or 0.03 points to end at 6.77 and Boryszew SA (WA:BORY) was down 0.36% or 0.02 points to 5.63.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 340 to 207 and 113 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.06% or 0.03 to $52.75 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $58.65 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.27% or 3.10 to trade at $1162.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 1.01% to 4.1742, while USD/PLN fell 2.09% to 3.7405.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.69% at 96.00.
