Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Building & Construction and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Inditex (MC:ITX), which rose 2.67% or 0.835 points to trade at 32.050 at the close. Gamesa (MC:GAM) added 2.22% or 0.415 points to end at 19.135 and Endesa (MC:ELE) was up 2.05% or 0.385 points to 19.140 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Popular (MC:POP), which lost 3.32% or 0.029 points to trade at 0.844 in late trade. International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (MC:ICAG) declined 2.09% or 0.111 points to end at 5.194 and Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) shed 1.07% or 0.048 points to 4.436.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 119 to 93 and 13 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.38% or 4.50 to $1183.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $47.95 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $48.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.0556, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8476.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 101.76.
