Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 1.86%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediaset (MI:MS), which rose 5.28% or 0.158 points to trade at 3.150 at the close. CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) added 4.67% or 0.260 points to end at 5.830 and Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) was up 4.27% or 0.0370 points to 0.9045 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Popolare (MI:BAPO), which lost 1.98% or 0.1450 points to trade at 7.1900 in late trade. Saipem (MI:SPMI) declined 1.43% or 0.0050 points to end at 0.3450 and Anima Holding SpA (MI:ANIM) shed 0.88% or 0.05 points to 5.62.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 282 to 114 and 24 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.96% or 0.63 to $31.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.39% or 0.48 to hit $33.93 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.20% or 2.50 to trade at $1241.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1027, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.7909.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 97.43.
